Something Delicious is coming your way!

Wedding Wednesday: Bespoke Menu Tasting

We might be a little biased, but we think the food is the most important part of any celebration, right? This is no different when it comes to weddings, and it’s important to have a delicious, memorable meal that you and your guests will really enjoy. A big part of this decision is choosing the right caterer for you who can create a bespoke menu, so here are some of our top tips when it comes to organising that all-important menu tasting with your wedding caterer.

Start Planning Early

As soon as you have all the basics organised, turn your attention to the food as soon as you can. It takes much longer than you would think to find the perfect caterer, try out different dishes, put together a bespoke menu and then organise all the finer details. The sooner you can get started on this process the better!

Organise an Initial Meeting

Once you’ve found a caterer you like, organise a meeting to have a chat with them in person or over the phone. This will give you a good idea of whether you’re a good fit and on the same wavelength. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what type of meal you want yet – your caterer will be able to talk you through the different options and suggest what will work best. Once you’ve had an initial meeting, it’s time to book in your menu tasting.

Try Lots of Mini Dishes

When it comes to creating a bespoke menu, it’s best to try out lots of different things so you can work out what you like, what works well together and what suits your style of meal. Try mini sizes of a few different dishes you might want for your wedding menu so you can have a little taste of everything without getting too full up!

Don’t be Afraid to Mix and Match

Once you’ve tasted some of the dishes, don’t be afraid to let your caterer know if you would like to change things up. Mix and match flavours from different dishes to create your own bespoke menu which suits your tastes and reflects the things you love.

Let the Chef Work their Magic

A bespoke menu tasting is a good chance to discuss ideas with your caterer and plan the menu together, then once you have chosen your final dishes you can relax and let the chef work their magic. They know exactly how to create a delicious menu which is tailored for your wedding, so you can sit back and stop worrying about the food – let them do that for you!
