Spring Wedding Trends for 2018

We’re half way through March and it feels like spring is finally here! It’s time to wave goodbye to the rich colours and cosy vibes of winter weddings, and welcome in something fresh and new for spring.

We’ve had a look at some of this year’s top spring wedding trends, and here are some of our favourites. These spring wedding trends are ones to keep an eye on for 2018, and might even give you some inspiration if you’re planning a spring wedding for 2019 or beyond.

Coloured Wedding Dress Trends

As well as the traditional spring wedding dress styles we all know and love, in 2018/2019 look out for wedding dresses with a hint of colour. Millennial pink will continue to be a huge colour trend, so keep an eye out for dresses with a pale blush pink tone. Other pale, pastel tones (such as ice blue) will also make an appearance, and some designers are even incorporating touches of black into their spring wedding dresses. Look out for subtle additions of black lace, embroidery or crystals.

Natural Wedding Hairstyle Trends

Another big trend for spring weddings in 2018 is that brides will wear their hair in a relaxed, natural style. Many brides are opting for loose curls, paired with braids, half-up hair dos or boho floral crowns. The trend this spring is for semi-formal hairstyles which still look pretty and sophisticated, but with plenty of natural movement and relaxed vibes.

Healthy Wedding Food Trends

When it comes to the food and drink, a big spring wedding trend this year is to opt for healthy choices. That doesn’t mean the food has to be boring, however! Think platters laden with fresh fruits; interesting and creative salad tables; natural seasonal and local produce; and even smoothie bars (adding a dash of fizz, optional!).

Cascading Bouquet Wedding Trends

Last year, bouquets were small and sweet. But this year, bouquets will be much bigger, fuller and with plenty of trailing foliage. Cascading bouquets will be given a modern touch by keeping them relaxed and informal. This spring, brides will be holding beautiful arrangements full of greenery, foliage and wildflowers, mixed with bigger blooms, in a messy-on-purpose kind of style.

Fresh Wedding Colour Schemes

Spring weddings usually tend to have light and bright colour schemes, and this year is no different. Pastel colours will remain a huge trend, in particular pale, dusky pinks paired with natural greenery. Also look out for duck egg blue and turquoise tones to add depth to white colour schemes. These colours look fantastic paired with touches of gold.
