Summer Wedding Dress Trends for 2018

As summer approaches, we’re looking forward to seeing what kind of beautiful gowns this year’s brides have chosen. Summer brides have lots of different wedding dress styles to choose from - whether it’s boho and flowy or classic and elegant.

Summer 2018 sees the return of lots of tried and tested summer styles, and there are also a few new wedding dress trends to look out for. Here are a few of our favourites that we’re sure will be big this summer.

Royal Wedding Inspired

The Royal Wedding has had a huge impact on how couples are planning their wedding, and Meghan’s beautiful dress is no exception. Many brides are choosing a style similar to her dress, with a classic shape, long sleeves and a stunning veil with a huge train. Because it’s such a classic look, this style will work well on just about everyone - look for a slightly off the shoulder gown like Meghan’s to add a touch of modern style.

Minimalist Wedding Dresses

If ruffles, lace and tulle aren’t your thing, you’ll love the minimalist wedding dresses trend. Keep things simple with a minimal wedding dress - think clean lines, classic cuts and understated yet luxe fabrics. These dresses are perfect for brides who have a cool, casual sense of style. Choose a full-length gown with an interesting neckline (again, channeling Meghan Markle’s evening gown!) to make a minimalist wedding dress extra special.

Wedding Jumpsuits

One for the braver brides, wedding jumpsuits are now a thing! White bridal jumpsuits add a twist to the traditional wedding outfit. Great for fashion-forward brides, they really make a statement and look effortlessly cool. Team with a chic pair of heels and a simple messy-on-purpose hairdo for a look people will remember.

Multi-Wear Dresses

Another big wedding dress trend this summer is multi-wear dresses. Rather than having a dress for the ceremony and another dress for the reception, many brides are looking for multi-wear alternatives to make the most out of their beautiful dress. Many dresses now come with detachable skirts, sleeves, trains or capes so you can whip them off and instantly transform your dress to give it a whole new look for the evening.
